Welcome To The World…
I’m baaaack! I hope you’ve enjoyed the break from my ramblings…I promise it’ll just be a short one from me today! I couldn’t wait until I came back to blog about the arrival of my gorgeous baby – so bear with me while I bore you all to tears with my new Mummy gushing!!
Richard and I welcomed Frederick Richard Benjamin Piper into the world a week ago today (I don’t know how that’s possible, because I think I’ve blinked and missed that time!), weighing in at exactly 8lbs! It’s cliché, but from the moment we set eyes on him, he has become our entire world – I genuinely don’t know how I’ll ever get anything done ever again, because I spend the majority of my day just staring at him! Obviously every Mummy thinks their baby is perfect, but I’m pretty sure Freddie might be…so much so that I’ll even forgive him for the labour and delivery part! He has a huge amount of hair, a beautiful little face, and a very cheeky personality already – he spends most of his time attached to me, and very much enjoys his food – he managed to pile 6oz on in the first 5 days of his life, so he’s definitely inherited his Mother’s appetite! (Sorry baby!)
It’s been a funny week in our little baby bubble – full of happiness, love and lots of laughs alongside the cyclical feed, change, nap routine! I wasn’t expecting to laugh ‘til I cried over one particular changing incident where I can only describe Freddie as behaving like a Mr Whippy machine once his nappy had come off…there have been lots of lessons very quickly learned over the last 7 days! We’ve got one more week in our bubble before Rich goes back to work, so we’re enjoying every second of staying in bed until midday having cuddles, eating naughty food that hasn’t been in the house for 9 months (welcome back pâté – you’ve been missed!), and introducing Freddie to his wonderful family and friends. I can’t wait to introduce him to his massive Briars family – he’s got lots of cuddles and dribble kisses to hand out when he gets to work!
