Patient Update 24/03/2020
We are writing to update you in respect of the dental practice.
The Government’s Chief Dental Officer has issued guidance to dentists in preparation for the Prime Minister’s statement last night.
Accordingly we have temporarily suspended any routine and non-essential dental treatment, and will remain available to provide advice and urgent/emergency dental treatment to people who DO NOT have symptoms of coronavirus infection. In such situations, a visit to the practice is permissible as it falls under the remit of ‘essential medical care’. It is essential that the hospitals and other NHS services are not overloaded with dental emergencies that can be handled in general dental practice at this time.
We are aware that many of our patients, and perhaps family members of our patients fall into the vulnerable group who are at increased risk of severe illness from coronavirus. We have put special measures in place for anyone who is attending the practice but in particular those from the increased risk group.
As always, should you have any questions we are happy to answer them. Please call us or email rather than visiting the surgery in person without a pre-arranged appointment. We will be in touch directly if you are currently under-going a course of treatment to explain the next steps to you.
