Important information for patients

Dear patients,

We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

As you are aware, we have been back to providing dental services for some time now however we are still receiving an unprecedented amount of phone and email enquiries from both existing and new patients with problems since we reopened.  This has meant our dentists have been working at full capacity.  Although we try to accommodate everyone promptly, especially those who have a dental problem, we must prioritise those who have dental emergencies into our dedicated emergency spaces. Dental emergencies are severe dental pain, bleeding, swelling or trauma. Broken teeth, lost fillings/crowns or toothache for example do not class as emergencies, however we do sympathise and will book you in to the next available appointment with your dentist.

Our clinicians are still working under restrictions regarding aerosol procedures which limits the use of some of the dental equipment and impacts on when we can schedule certain procedures.  To help us with scheduling and triaging problems, and to avoid our dentists spending clinical time assessing problems which could otherwise be spent dealing with them it is very helpful if you have a dental problem if you email a photo of the problem to enquiries@briarsdentalcentre.com and offer as much information as you can about the nature of any other symptoms such as pain.

Please note, if you have not attended the practice for an examination in the last 3 or more years, we will require a full assessment again to assess the changes to your dental and medical health.  Therefore, in that situation you will need be booked in for a New Patient Assessment rather than a routine dental examination to allow enough time for the full assessment to be carried out.

You will be pleased to know we had a new dentist, Richard Lilleker, join our team this month which should help improve our capacity further.
